It's a scam that has cost victims at least $30,000,000 in the last three years. And when you hear it, you'll wonder, “How the hell did anybody fall for this?”
But they do…
When I got the initial voicemail message (included within the podcast episode) to get me on the hook, my plan was to call back and try to get the inside scoop on how these operations work. How often are they successful? What kind of people are they looking for? How does the flow of money work? What are the marketing lessons that you can learn from them?
That didn't happen. So I called back one more time, keeping them on the line for a long as possible…
I was able to get find three people working this scam via a call center in Pakistan to explain to me how it works and how they make as much as $30,000 per day. You can hear those conversations here and here.
